A.Oxidative wear
After the operation temperature of tungsten carbide mold parts is over 700 ℃, the oxygen in the air will react with chemicals in the tungsten steel. Then, it will form the loose and vulnerable oxide on the surface. When the oxide are wiped off by mechanical action, tungsten carbide mold parts will
be corroded and abraded and left pits on the surface.
B. Mechanical abrasion and wear
The workpiece material, Such as the metal carbides, rub and scratch on the
surface of tungsten carbide mold parts. Due to the mechanical action, it
gradually erase the surface material and then cause the wear and tear. Mechanical abrasion and wear exists under any cutting speed.
C. Diffusive wear
The higher the cutting temperature, the faster the diffusion, and the more quickly the tungsten carbide mold parts abrasion. It is closely related to the properties of tungsten carbide mold parts.
D. Bond wear
Under the condition of high cutting temperature, some outstanding points of tungsten carbide mold parts will bond with the workpiece, and gradually be cut, teared and taken away by the workpiece. This is bond wear.
