1、Easy to Process
Injection mold parts are mostly made of metal materials, in order to shorten the production cycle and improve efficiency, the mold material is required to be easy to process into the shape and accuracy required by the drawing.
2、Good wear resistance
The gloss and accuracy of the surface of the plastic parts are directly related to the wear resistance of the surface of the mold cavity, especially when some plastics are added with glass fibers, inorganic fillers and some pigments, they flow together with the plastic melt in the flow channel and the mold cavity at high speed, and the friction on the surface of the mold cavity is great.
If the material is not wear-resistant, it will soon wear out, causing damage to the quality of the plastic parts. For this reason, it is best to use tool steel (heat-treated steel) that has been properly tempered. Otherwise, it will cause changes in the microstructure of the material, resulting in changes in the mold size.
Mold material selection needs to meet three principles, mold to meet the work needs of wear resistance, strength and toughness,
The mold meets the requirements of working conditions:
1、Wear resistance
When the billet is plastic denaturated in the mold cavity, it flows and slides along the surface of the mold cavity, causing severe friction between the surface of the mold cavity and the billet, resulting in the failure of the mold due to wear. Under normal circumstances, the higher the hardness of the mold parts, the smaller the wear amount, and the better the wear resistance.
2、Annealing process
The spheroidizing annealing temperature range is wide, the annealing hardness is low, the fluctuation range is small, and the spheroidizing rate is high.
